Applications are processed faster when both tenants and landlords work together and complete an application. The best way to apply is for the landlord to start the application so it automatically invites the tenant to provide their information, and the landlord is paid directly.
But if your landlord is not willing or able to cooperate, you can complete the tenant application on your own and receive payment directly.
One Per Household
You only need one application per household – a household can include multiple people living in the same place, even if they are each paying rent and filing income taxes separately.
If your household has already submitted an application, please avoid creating and submitting another application. This will slow down the review process for both applications. You can check the status of your existing application.
Even if you qualify, payment will not be immediate. Given the volume of applications the program is receiving, it may take several weeks before you see a change in the status of your application.
Make sure your voicemail is set up and check email, including spam/junk folder, so the program can contact you if additional information is needed.
If you have questions or need assistance with your application, please contact the Call Center toll-free at 833-9TX-RENT (833-989-7368) Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. When contacting the call center or communicating about your application, please include your Case ID, first and last name and address as stated in your application so we can more quickly find it.
